A large magnetic track built on the living-room rug

How it works

Join, build, watch it go

  1. Join the piecesCubes, curves and ramps join and come apart with a simple pull and twist.
  2. Build it upRamps take the track up and down. In the 86 and 147 sets, white pillars lift it to a second level.
  3. Add the trainMagnets hold it on the track, so it can climb ramps and drive upside down.

Four builds to start with

Begin flat, then go up. Older children will soon ignore these and invent their own.

Begin flat, then go up.

  • Easy

    The first circuit

Curves and cubes joined into one closed circuit on the floor. A good first build to do together.

  • Medium

    Up and over

Add ramps so the track climbs onto a raised run and comes back down.

  • Tricky · 86 and 147 sets

    Over the bridge

Lift a straight onto the white pillars with a ramp at each end, add the red railing and let the lower track run underneath. Plan it together first.

  • Your own

    Whatever they dream up

There are no wrong layouts. Take a photo before it gets pulled apart.

What it builds in them

Besides the track.

  • Planning aheadWhere does the curve go so the track meets up again?
  • Steady handsEach piece has to line up for the train to run on. That takes a steady hand.
  • PatienceNot every bridge stands first time. Trying again is half the fun.
  • Playing togetherOne builds the track, the other tests it with the train, then they swap.

More than a train set

  • A brother and sister building the magnetic track together

    They build, it drives

The train does the moving, so the playing is all in the building.

  • A child letting go of the train as it climbs a ramp arch

    Up the ramps

Magnets hold the train on, so it climbs steep ramps and stays on the track.

  • A boy holding up one orange magnetic cube

    A new layout every day

Pieces join freely and tracks can cross. Pull it apart and start again.

  • A father and son lying on the rug, watching the train cross the bridge

    Time on the rug together

Build a bridge, then lie down at track level and watch the train go over.

Questions about the train set

Something else? Write to us and a real person answers within 1 working day.

Which set should I choose?

Starter 68 has 34 magnetic blocks, 14 curves and 8 corner ramps, for a circuit on the floor with ramps up and down. Explorer 86 has 20 cubes and 8 curves. It adds white pillars for a second level, plus a red bridge, 8 flags and 17 road signs, traffic lights, trees and stickers. Master builder 147 has the most pieces, with 22 cubes, more pillars, a red crane arm, 3 stop signs and two sticker sheets.

Which age is it for?

The Starter 68 is marked 3+ by the maker. It contains magnets and small parts, so it is not for children under 3.

Does it fit other track sets?

Two of the same set join into one bigger track, because the pieces are the same. We can’t promise it fits other brands.

How big can it get?

It depends on the set and the layout. With the 86 and 147 sets, white pillars lift the track to a second level.
